If you and your provider decide the oral appliance therapy is right for you, you will need a custom oral appliance to wear at night. After your appointment, you will receive an email with information about the next steps for getting an oral appliance. There is a 4-step process to getting an oral appliance:
- Verifying your benefits - once your provider orders your oral appliance, the Happy Sleep Operations team will verify your benefits for Durable Medical Equipment (DME).*
- Consultation call - a member of our team will call you to discuss your benefits and any financial responsibility.
- Prior authorization - a prior authorization (PA) is typically required for oral appliance therapy. If you decide to move forward during your consultation call, we will conduct the prior authorization and let you know the results within 4 business days.
- Your Claim is Filed - Happy Sleep will then file a claim with your insurance company.
*Insurance companies require a diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in order to cover Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT).
